Markham Skating Club
 
The Markham Skating Club skates primarily
at the Markham Village Community Centre,
6041 Highway 7
(south-east corner of Highway 7 & Highway 48)

Offers both recreational and competitive programs,
group and private lessons, including Kid’s skate, Canskate, 
Power skating, and Synchronized skating.

Programs are under sanction of Skate Canada.

Markham Synchronized Skating Team

The Synchronized Skating program is for skaters at the Intermediate Level or above, and teaches the basics of synchro skating. Team try-outs will take place in early September each year and the team will participate in at least one competition each year.

Thornhill Figure Skating Club

The Thornhill Figure Skating Club has been teaching local children and adults to skate for over 27 years.

Offers a variety of skating programs:

  • Pre-school

  • Canskate, the official learn-to-skate program designed by Skate Canada

  • Adult/Teen learn-to-skate

  • advanced figure skating, both recreational and competitive

The Thornhill Figure Skating Club is located at 
Thornhill Community Centre Arena (Bayview and John St.) and Rosemount Community Centre arena (Bathurst St., south of Highway 407).

Unionville Skating Club
 
Unionville Skating Club has been teaching
 the community to skate since 1950.

Offers Learn-to-Skate, Figure Skating, Power Skating, Synchronized Skating, and Adult/Teen Skating programs

and STARSkate skills and testing.

Outdoor Ice Rinks

Skating hours are subject to ice / weather conditions.
Markham Civic Centre Ice Rink – at 101 Town Centre Blvd, north-west corner of Highway 7 & Warden Ave.
(Open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily)

Toogood Pond – in Unionville located on Carlton Road, west of Main Street Unionville

Skating rinks are dependent on the ice and weather conditions, and are monitored daily by parks staff. A minimum of 19 cm or 7 1/2 inches of solid ice with no surface water, or melting edges is required to open the ponds for safe public skating. 

Please Note: All locations use a flag system to inform the public of ice conditions.
Skating hours are subject to ice / weather conditions.
RED flag means skating is not permitted and there is no skate patrol on duty.
YELLOW flag means ice is of sufficient depth for skating – proceed with caution.
Skate at own risk.

Cedarena

 Markham’s ‘Winter Wonderland’
Cedarena, an old-fashioned outdoor ice rink located in the picturesque Rouge River valley in Markham, Ontario.

 7373 Reesor Rd., (Tenth Line), south of Hwy. 7.

Family Skating: 
Thursday, Friday and Saturday 7:30 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Sunday afternoons 1 – 4 p.m.

ADULT’S ONLY: Tuesday evenings 7:30 p.m.- 10 p.m.

Admission: Adults 16 & over – $5
                   Child 15 & under – $2.50
