A variety of courses are available at the Markham Guild of Village Crafts to satisfy your interest. Enroll in some classes and see what you can do!

Classes are open to members and non-members.

REGISTRATION: Please register with the individual instructor for the respective course. Students must register 1 week prior to class start date. Most classes require additional materials fees which are not included in the prices unless otherwise stated. Validate times and additional fees with each instructor when registering. Cheques should be made payable to: Markham Guild of Village Crafts.

REFUND POLICY: Full Refund: If the program you choose is cancelled by the Guild.
                                  Partial Refund: $5.00 administration and material fees are not refundable if cancelled by the student.
                                  No Refund: If student cancels later than one (1) week prior to the beginning of the course.

FIBRE ART
Textile and Fibre Art Techniques Workshops Series click on the above photo  to view larger	This series of workshops is for those who are interested in expanding their repertoire of textile and fibre art techniques. Each week, under the guidance of the teacher who is an experienced textile and fibre artist, students will explore a different technique during each 3-hour workshop. Note: Students may take one or more workshops depending on their interests.    Sept. 20 – Free-motion sewing Sept. 27 – Thread-painting Oct. 4 – Fabric dying Oct. 18 – Fabric printing and painting Oct. 25 – Surface embellishment Date:  Sundays.  Time:  10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Fee:  Each 3-hour workshop. $19.50 plus materials extra. KNITTING
Knitting Socks click on the above photo  to view larger	Learn to cast on stitches and knit with 4 needles to knit a pair of socks. You will learn how to turn a heel and end off the toe. How nice to slip your feet into a warm wooly pair of socks for the cold winter months. Materials extra. Knitting Beginners / Intermediate	Learn to cast on, knit and purl stitches, cast off, increase and decrease, as well as pattern reading. Fair Isle, cable, knitting in the round and on 4 needles will be taught in the intermediate group. Bring your own project if you have one. Knitting Mitered Squares click on the above photo  to view larger	This knitting gem also known as Domino Technique is perfect for colour lovers. It gives a freedom to create a truly unique piece. Workshop provides a hands-on demonstration of turning your yarn-stash into the wearable piece of art.  Date:  Sunday, November 15, 2009  Time:  10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  Fee:  $19.50 plus material fee $10 is extra.
