Local Talent Featured in Upcoming Musical.
"I think people are going to be blown away by this
production" says 14-year-old Unionville High student Dallas
Jokic, who plays the lead role in the City Youth Players adaptation
of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer: The Broadway Musical. In
recent years, C.Y.P. has staged popular productions including High
School Musical, Grease, Annie and Seussical. The non-profit
company features talented young actors aged 12 -25. Based on
Mark Twain's classic novel, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer: The
Broadway Musical also stars Unionville High students Stacy Jo
Collins (Becky Thatcher), Amy Forsyth (Widow Douglas) and Markham
District High graduate Mayla Donachi (Aunt Polly). "This
is a great story with terrific music and a wonderful cast" says
musical director Megan Davis. "It is high
quality live entertainment for about the same cost as a movie
and popcorn." Tom Sawyer runs from March 4th
through March 7th at the Vaughan City Playhouse. Tickets are
available at 905 -882-SHOW (7469).
