The Stiver Mill Farmers’
Market was originally started to bring
awareness to the plight of the Stiver
Mill. The City of Markham and the Federal
Government came together after five years
to support the restoration of the Stiver
Mill. The newly renovated Stiver Mill, now
called the Stiver Mill Cultural Centre,
officially opened in June 2014. As Mayor
Frank Scarpitti says “it is a showpiece”.
The newly renovated Stiver Mill includes a
beautiful boardwalk running from Main
Street Unionville, beside the Train
Station and around the Stiver Mill. Enjoy
a stroll on the boardwalk to the Farmers’

We will be having something for our canine
At 11:00 a.m. we are having a Dog Contest,
with prizes! Categories will
include: Best Sit & Stay, Best Trick,
Biggest Dog, Smallest Dog, Longest Tail,
Shortest Tail, Dog & Owner look-alike,
Debbie Reynolds from Life’s Ruff will be
judging the contest AND doing a training
demonstration. Prizes generously
donated by McGuire Naturals.
Markham Animal Care Committee will be
there and Honest to Dog will be selling
handmade dog treats.
