Wadaiko Yamato is a Japanese musical group of taiko drummers founded
in 1993 by Masa Ogawa. Since its creation, the group has made over one
thousand live performances to over one million people in more than 20
countries.
In Japanese, the word
“wadaiko” translates as “Japanese drum” and “YAMATO” was
the former name of the city of Nara, the group's birthplace.
Thru the sound of the drums made
of animal skin and ancient tree, some of which are more than 400 years
old they are a pulse or the Heartbeat (Shin-on), the sound of the drum
unifies the people with the Universe.
This stage production is
high-energy and the drum is at the centre of the gathering…a
celebration of life.
"A performance of such
rampaging energy that it threatens to bring down the house!" ~
