McKay Art Centre Toogood Pond Artists 7th annual summer show, "Perceptions" begins Wednesday June 30th and runs until July 5th, including Canada Day July 1st. Meet all 3 Artists Sunday, July 4 at
1 p.m. - 4 p.m. http://toogoodpondartists.dhs.org The Kathleen Gormley McKay Art Centre, also known as the Salem Eckardt House, was built between 1845 and 1851 by Andrew and Salem Eckardt, sons of Philip Eckardt, one of the original "Berczy Settlers" who founded Unionville in 1794. It was also once the home of F. H. Varley, the famous artist of the Group of Seven. He lived and painted in this Gothic Revival cottage home for the last 12 years of his life. It now serves as an art centre for studio classes. The McKay Art Centre also features exhibits and works for sale from talented community artists and is the perfect spot to visit on your next trip to Unionville.
