Thornhill Garden & Horticultural Society Meetings

The Thornhill Garden & Horticultural is 98 years old, the oldest registered Thornhill society and affiliated with its umbrella organization OHA, the Ontario Horticultural Association. 

The Thornhill Garden & Horticultural Society is located within the Town of Markham and City of Vaughan, immediately north of the City of Toronto boundary. 

Its aim:
 - to beautify our communities through flower-and vegetable gardening, horticulture, landscape architecture, street-side gardens, planting and maintaining parks
 - holding public exhibitions
 - monthly membership meetings with invited guest-speakers
 - holding OHA-judged Flower Shows
 - publishing TGHS Yearbook/Speaker/Flower-Show-Guide & Competition Programme
 - publishing a monthly TGHS Hort-News letter, for its membership

All meetings are held at the Glynnwood Retirement Residence, 7700 Bayview Ave., Thornhill (at Bayview Ave. and John St.). map

Meetings have a guest speaker and can be enjoyed by current members as well as guests and new members.

Flower shows are judged competitions for current members. The big annual summer show can be enjoyed by anyone visiting in the mall.

Plant sales can be enjoyed by everyone.

The garden tour and annual awards meeting are enjoyed by current members only.

Membership runs from January 1 to December 31 of each year. Dues are $15 single or $20 family.
