Aaron Madar has partnered up with Joyful Habitat for a unique fundraising project “Shovels for the Community” on November 18, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Our goal is to raise funds for 3 different organizations and give back to the community.

Joyful Habitat is a Canadian Wholesaler and Distributor offering outdoor products décor, patio furniture and more. For this fundraising project Joyful Habitat will be giving away 2000 metal snow shovels.

Aaron is a Past President of the Toronto Trillium Lions Club, current member of the Markham Lions Club and a member of the Markham Stouffville Hospital Leaders group. Aaron will be organizing this fundraiser.

Our goal is to give back in 2 different ways:

Raising funds:
The metal snow shovels that Joyful Habitat is giving away retails for $30-$40, we will be asking for a minimum $10 donation for each shovel or $20 donation for 3 shovels. The funds raised will be donated to the following groups:

 1) Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment Foundation
 2) Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation
 3) Markham Lions Club

Donation of Shovels:
Remaining shovels from this event will be donated to the City of Markham and the City of Toronto. These shovels will go to local rinks, outdoor facilities and various community centers. With the donations of these shovels these rinks and facilities will be properly equipped for the winter season.

Kickoff Ceremony with Dignitaries from 3 levels of government: 10 a.m.

The first one hundred (100) people in line to buy a shovel will receive a raffle ticket for the lucky prize draw.
These 100 raffle tickets will be placed in a raffle to win one of 2 prizes from MLSE Foundation.
(1) 2017-2018 Team Signed Hockey Stick from the Toronto Maple Leafs or (1) Winter Prize Pack (consist of 1 Toronto Raptors Toque, 1 Toronto FC Blanket Scarf & 1 Toronto Maple Leafs Scarf)
