(collaboration between Markham Public Library and Afghan Women’s Organization,
funded by the Government of Canada)

Saturday, September 16, 2017, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Location:
Markham Village Library

            6031 Highway 7  map

The Canada 150 event focuses on Canada’s identity, diversity and multiculturalism by showcasing the contributions made to the rich social fabric of Canada by people who came to Canada as refugees.

The project will enable Canadians to gain a deeper understanding of the significant contributions made by refugees to Canadian society, both economically and socially, as leaders, artists, community workers and elders. This will be done by means of digital storytelling, focusing on what they give to Canada, and what Canada gives to them.

These digital stories will form the foundation for a series of community engagement events, during which those stories will be shared.

Cost & Registration: Register for this FREE event in advance by emailing Nadya Weber: nweber@afghanwomen.org
                              or at the door.

Target customers: Families
