A Missionaries of the Poor Gala Fundraiser

Father Michael McGivney Catholic Academy will be hosting a premier fundraising dinner for orphanages and shelters run by the Missionaries of the Poor in Jamaica. This initiative was adopted by York Regional Police in honour of the late YPR Constable Davis Ahlowalia who passed away five years ago in a fatal collision. The staff and students of Father Michael McGivney have adopted this mission to raise awareness of the need that exists among the poorest of the poor in our global community. Every year a group of students and staff travel to Kingston to work at the orphanages that care for disabled orphans. This year we will be hosting a gala to raise greater awareness and funds at Merlyn's Banquet Hall in Markham. The guest list includes: The Mayor of Richmond Hill - Dave Barrows, YRP Chief of Police - Eric Joliffe, Superintendents of Education from YCDSB and Markham community members.
