2016 Markham Moon Festival

Sunday, September 11, 2016

6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Location: Markham Civic Centre
101 Town Centre Blvd map

Originally named the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Moon Festival is one of the most important holidays celebrated by Chinese communities around the world.

"When the moon is full, mankind is one"

In China, the full moon has always represented the gatherings of friends and family. Thus, Moon Festival is a time for family reunions. On this night, families will get together at scenic spots or parks for moon appreciation parties, and eating mooncakes.

We would like to invite families to come together and welcome the full moon at the Markham City Hall. Festive food including moon cake, traditional Chinese tea and festive fruits are provided by our sponsors and share with the community. Of course, there will be lanterns for kids.
