Markham Jazz Festival

The Markham Jazz Festival provides a diverse and eclectic mix of jazz entertainment for music lovers of all ages.  This year's event takes place Friday, August 14th through Sunday, August 16th, 2009.  At this three-day festival, some of Canada’s most renowned jazz/blues/funk and fusion musicians will set the rhythm in the historic villages of Unionville and Markham - especially suitable for families!

On Friday, August 14, 2009 at 8 p.m. the Markham Jazz Festival presents its 12th Annual "On Fire" GALA. An incredible evening of big band sounds and sultry vocals with the Dave McMurdo Jazz Orchestra and Canada's multi-award winning jazz vocalist, Ranee Lee. Two Canadian jazz treasures combined to present a great night of music that will delight lovers of swing, bebop and smoky sexy jazz standards! The evening includes an Intermission Reception and Silent Auction. All seats $48.
