variety of courses are available at the Markham Guild of Village Crafts
to satisfy your interest.
Enroll in some classes and see what you can do!
Classes are open to members and non-members.
REGISTRATION: Please register with
the individual instructor for the respective course. Students must register 2 week prior to class start date. Most classes require additional materials fees
which are not included in the prices unless otherwise
stated. Validate times and additional fees with each instructor when
registering. Cheques should be made payable to: Markham Guild of Village Crafts.
REFUND POLICY: Full Refund: If the program you choose is cancelled by the
Guild.
Partial Refund: $5.00 administration and material fees are not refundable if
cancelled by the student.
No Refund: If student cancels later
than one (1) week prior to the beginning of
the course.

Painting Art Classes
|
Learn to paint in any medium with a local artist. Students will receive individual attention as they work on various projects in this ongoing ten week course. Classes are ongoing.

Shakespeare in the Park Quilt ![]() |
Learn how to make the Rising Star & Virginia Reel Block to produce this stunning quilt. It can be scrappy or just 3 colours. Intermediate / Advanced Level.

Kaleidoscope Magic Quilt |
Discover the possibilities of quilt designs using the Kaleidoscope pattern and the "Stack & Whack" method. Using large scale fabric prints, you will learn to make a dazzling quilt traditionally pieced using 2 templates. Confident Beginner / Intermediate Level.

Finishing School for Quilts |
Dig out those orphan blocks, or unfinished quilt tops. Learn to put blocks together in various settings and to layer, baste and quilt your quilt. Bring our lunch.

Pottery - Handbuilding and Wheel Throwing (10 weeks)

This on-going class for Beginner, Intermediate & Advance Potter, allows the student to acquire technical skill in Handbuilding and Wheelthrowing. Students will practice both techniques with stoneware clay and porcelain. The experiment in glaze making, kiln loading and firing will be discussed as the student advances in knowledge and experience. A wheel is available for each student. There are a maximum of 6 students per class to allow for individual instruction. Date and Time: (Wednesdays) 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Saturdays) 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Sundays) 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Course fee (Materials is included): $245.00 10 kg.
