Crafts for a Cause: 

(joint program between Markham Public Library and CICS Immigrant Youth Centre (IYC))

Wednesdays, April 5 - May 24, 2017

4:30 - 6:00 p.m.

Location: Milliken Mills Library
                     7600 Kennedy Rd.  map

Designed for immigrant youth to increase their level of confidence by creating various arts and crafts projects. All items will be donated to local charities in the community.

Target Audience: Youth between the ages of 13 – 18 years

Program Highlights:

· Newcomer youth will increase their English skills, practice soft skills such as communication, organizational and artistic skills while creating arts and crafts products for donation to the community

· Participants will learn ways to obtain support from the public library, and discover library services and resources

· Youth will earn volunteer hours through the project
