Celebrate an Energetic Year
in the Year of Dragon 2012!

Chinese New Year Celebrations has been hosted successfully by the Town of Markham for 14 years since 1999. It will be again co-hosted together with Canadian Chinese Real Estate Brokerage Association (CCREBA) and Toronto Chinese Community Services Association (TCCSA). This exciting event will be held on Saturday, January 28th, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the  Markham Civic Centre (northwest corner of Warden Avenue and Highway 7). We would like to spread out this joyous feeling to every corner in our community.

Lunar 2012 is the Year of the Dragon, presenting lots more powerful and energetic among the 12 stars. Our mission of this event is to attract the mainstream and ethnics groups to participate in our event, not just celebrating our Chinese New Year, but also our 1st Winter Carnival at the Town of Markham. This event brings focus to various Chinese social activities and sharing understanding among different cultures. Parents can come together with children skating at the new outdoors ring next to the pond.

As in the past, The Remington Group has shown continuous support in our event as our Title Sponsor, Our Diamond Sponsors are Mon Sheong Court, Sunlife Financial, Tako Sushi, Mary Kay Cosmetics and many other prestigious corporations are also honourable supporters to this event. One of all-time sponsors, Canada Post, has invited 'Year of Dragon' stamp designers to attend at our event, having his autograph for every stamp purchaser.

We have invited several famous Chinese musicians to join our variety show this year including soprano singer Chen Lin, dancing queen Winnie Yu, Chinese flute master Wang Chun Jie, Yan Qin master Wang Li, AZ Vocal Studio students and Chinese cultural dance by Chinese Folk Dance Group.

Returning as our favourite is "3 Good Fortunes" giving our lai-sees, 75 ft. dragon dancing from indoor to outdoor. Many Chinese arts and crafts and delicious beaver tails, hot dogs and apple ciders will available at the skating ring and restaurant at the Lower Atrium.

You are cordially invited to the Chinese New Year Celebration with Free Admission and Parking. Bring your whole family to enjoy a wonderful day at our Chinese New Year Celebration!
