After the arrival of the New Year, the God of Fortune, Choi Sun,
 received a stream of celebrants to the stage and
had a lucky Red Packet for everyone.

The spectacular Lion Dance, performed by young dancers
 from the Sammy Cheng Toronto Chinese Lion Dance Association,
 thrilled the crowd.

These young ladies from Toronto First Radio added beauty and grace to the occasion.

Frank Scarpitti, the Mayor of Markham, was on hand to wish everyone
a Happy New Year and to enjoy one of the great annual events in the life of our city.

Michael Chan, newly elected MPP for Markham, was pleased
 to extend best wishes for the New Year to everyone.

John Tory, leader of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party,
dropped in to enjoy the atmosphere and wish a Happy New Year to all.

 

After performing on stage, the Junior members of Sammy Cheng's
Toronto Chinese Lion Dance Association, gave GuidingStar.ca
an exhibition of their skills in Kung Fu. Great work, kids!

 

 

Singer and songwriter, Noella Choi, delighted the crowd.
Noella is the lead female vocalist of  Dynasty Music Group.
Dynasty also provided musical background for the evening's events.
 

 

 

Toronto First Radio hosted the evenings festivities and kept things lively and fun
with their renditions of popular songs, their humorous dialogues and hilarious
audience participation games. Congratulations and thanks to the DJ's and staff
of Toronto First Radio for a most enjoyable celebration of the
