Applying for Canadian Citizenship

An information session for newcomers (joint program between Markham Public Library and CCSYR and IRCC through Library Settlement Partnerships(LSP))

Canadian Citizenship Week takes place in October each year.

In this information session, newcomers will learn about the rights and responsibilities of Canadian citizenship, as well as the application process.

Target Audience: Newcomers

Language: Session conducted in Farsi

Program Highlights/Objectives:

 · Participants will have an opportunity to learn about the rights and responsibilities of Canadian citizenship
 · Participants will learn about the application process and documentation needed
 · Participants will learn about the eligibility criteria
 · Participants will learn about other settlement services available
 · Participants will learn ways to obtain support from the public library, including resources for citizenship test practice, and discover library services
