The Markham Concert
Band
presents
"An Afternoon at the Bandstand"

Sunday, May 4, 2008 - 3 p.m.
Markham Theatre for Performing Arts
Just like a summer afternoon in the park, but with comfortable
seats. You'll hear lots of toe-tappers from Elvis and Billy Joel,
plus the thrilling "Hounds of Spring" by Alfred Reed.
The Markham
Concert Band was formed in 1978. With over 65 members, it is one
of the largest community bands in Canada and was brought together
with one purpose in mind - to serve the community with the best in
concert band music.
Band Director of
Music, Doug Manning, has received two Thea Awards from the Ontario
Association of Community Theatres - one for best Musical Direction
and the other for Orchestral Direction.
